In a unique twist, Ukraine has announced a remarkable kill streak, taking down five Russian warplanes in less than three days. The claims come amid a barrage of reported Russian Shahed drone strikes across Ukraine. Ukraine's Air Forces Spokesperson Yurii Ihnat described the operation as "brilliantly planned" and suggested that the US-supplied Patriot missile defense system may have been used in the claimed strike. Russia also claims to have shot down four Ukrainian craft, but both sides' claims remain unverified. The Ukrainian announcements come as warnings were issued of approaching Shahed exploding drones in multiple regions of Ukraine. As of Monday, Ukraine claimed to have shot down 28 Shahed drones in overnight attacks.
